MOST ADMIRABLE QUALITY IN OTHER MEN:

I admire men who express their faith in their work.

PROUDEST ACCOMPLISHMENT:

I have worked hard to gain knowledge and receive certifications which typically propels the careers of those in my field. I am definitely proud of those. Whether it be attending Harvard University and learning the advanced social media strategy of companies like Samsung and Oreo, or learning advanced social selling at E-Cornell University. Those are incredible experiences. I was floored to be included in the Amazon bestseller Mastering the Art of Success with noted author, Jack Canfield. The honor of receiving Editor’s Choice for my chapter about creating business “Turnarounds” was a tremendous surprise among more than 20 other authors. I have spoken on stage with the best in digital marketing all around the country and a few areas outside the U.S. However, my best accomplishment and motivation is helping to drive small to medium businesses to success and have them remain partners with me for five, 10 and 15 years or longer. Each year, when they renew, I am so grateful and thankful they continue to put their trust in me to help drive their mission. Having the trust of a business owner to help drive their company is a tremendous compliment.

FAVORITE PART OF YOUR JOB:

My actions affect the entire organization and indirectly impacts their entire community. My ability to help grow a business can impact jobs, incomes, and therefore improve the community ecosystem surrounding the business. When you have the ability to create the success or failure of a small business, it has a tremendous responsibility because it ultimately has an economic and social impact within the communities they serve. This is another reason that we only take on a maximum of 20 clients per year. Everything we do is based on becoming a true partner, not a vendor.

REMEMBER ME FOR:

Being a great friend and father.

ADVICE TO OTHERS:

Help people and love what you do. Forget the shortcuts. There is very rarely a shortcut to success. Sure, a few have done it, but they almost always lack the many intrinsic lessons learned along the way. Also, remember that achieving success is one thing, but you must have the skills to hang on to it as well — those are only gained along the rugged path to the top.

HOW HAVE YOUR EXPERIENCES SHAPED YOU?

I have had very little money, and I have had a good share of it. I have learned that money can create fun and amazing experiences, but it cannot make you happy. Success and happiness are two different things. Success must be subjective. You cannot set your success measurements based on those of society. You have to understand what your goals are and what it is that makes you happy. There are many successful people who do not have time to travel or enjoy life. That is a sad place to be. Once you have achieved personal happiness, you are now both successful and happy.
