The holiday season is upon us, and with all the excitement and merriment comes seasonal events, family get-togethers and office parties.  But how can a modern gent show his jolly side while still keeping his sartorial cool? Why, with festive seasonal accessories, of course!

Do not fear, though – I’m not suggesting you sport a Santa Claus necktie or a Christmas tree print pocket square.  No good sirs, there are subtle ways to embrace the holidays without looking kitschy.

1. Cheerful Colors: Reds and dark greens are well-known as traditional Christmas colors, but frozen hues such as frost white and icy blue also allude to the wintry season.

2. Festive Fabric: Knit accessories in cotton or wool keep you cozy, and these heavy woven fabrics bring the holidays to mind.

3. Decorative Designs: Repeating patterns and geometric designs hint at the holidays without being blatant. Try a classic plaid, diamond or snowflake print for a subtle ode to the jolliest time of the year.

‘Tis the season for giving, so why not support your local businesses?  Greenhaw’s, Bauman’s, Barakat Bespoke and Bell & Sward all carry a fine selection of men’s accessories and are convenient for picking up that last-minute gift. Use these tips to add some holiday spirit to your regular attire and you’ll be the merriest gent coming to town.
