Misty Hunt

Misty Hunt has been named as the 2020 Woman of the Year by Women’s Own Worth. She will be honored at WOW’s annual WOWapalooza dinner on Oct. 2.

Every year, WOW spotlights a woman who has made an impact on others and help them to find their worth. According to WOW founder Jajuan Archer, Hunt was unquestionably the right choice for the award.

“Misty Hunt was the unanimous decision and we can’t wait to shine a light on her good works,” Archer said in a statement. “Misty advocates for children of all ages to know the power of their voice. Misty has seen the abuse of children and others and uses that knowledge to help guide individuals and organizations to a brighter future. Her commitment to children and their moms is her purpose,” added Archer.

Hunt, who serves as Arkansas First Lady Susan Hutchinson’s chief of staff, is a tireless advocate, working to raise awareness of the fight against child abuse in the state. She cites “hope, justice and healing” as her driving mission when helping victims of abuse.

“We must shine the light on the abuse that so many children are silently suffering from so others will raise their voices for all to hear the cries of our children, our youth,” Hunt said.

The seventh annual WOWapalooza will be held Oct. 2 at 5:30 p.m. at the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion. There will be live music, dinner and live and silent auctions.
