Hot Springs is a beloved town in Arkansas for both natives and tourists. With the quaint Bathhouse Row with its restored hotels to the numerous restaurants that make up the town’s thriving culinary scene, Hot Springs is a Natural State gem.

But Hot Springs also has a long history as a favorite hangout of notorious figures like Al Capone. It’s no wonder that Hot Springs has the Gangster Museum! An event this weekend harkens back to this history.

Hot Springs Village is holding a Moonshine Festival on Friday, Sept. 13 and Saturday, Sept. 14. Friday will kick off with a Firewater Feast on Balboa Beach at 8 p.m. During the feast, participants will be treated to dinner, and of course, some tasty moonshine. Get your spot soon! There are only 24 spots available, and registration is $35. UPDATE: All the feast spots have sold out.

On Saturday, enjoy some moonshine in the moonlight during the festival’s Full Moon Paddle. Attendees can bring their own kayak/paddle board or rent one to paddle around Lake Balboa, starting at 6:30 p.m. Registration is $15 and includes “Moonlight Munchies,” a glass of wine and a moonshine tasting.
