  • The Harvest House of Cannabis opened today, becoming Little Rock’s first medical marijuana dispensary.

 

  • The Boy Scouts of America filed for bankruptcy in response to more than 300 lawsuits from former scouts who claim they were sexually abused. This new glut of suits comes after many states removed their statutes of limitations on sexual assault cases. The BSA plans to file chapter 11 bankruptcy, allowing them to create a trust to provide compensation for victims.
  • The Bureau of Land Management moved its headquarters from Washington D.C. to Grand Junction, Colorado. Acting director William Pendley says the move was to promote Bureau accessibility for local farmers and ranchers who may be unable to fly to Washington D.C.

 

  • Arkansas native and author of True Grit Charles Portis died yesterday, aged 86.
