• The Department of Finance and Revenue reported that Arkansans wagered more than $705,000 on the Super Bowl last Sunday. All sports betting took place at Arkansas’ three casinos, Oaklawn in Hot Springs, Southland in West Memphis and Pine Bluff’s Saracen Annex.
  • All 134 state revenue offices will start issuing Real ID cards, up from the 25 offices which previously issued the cards. Come October, Real IDs will be necessary to board domestic flights and for entry into federal buildings.

  • The Iowa Caucus results have yet to be released, with officials reporting “discrepancies” and “inaccuracies” in the polling data. Campaigns and voters alike expressed frustration with the outdated caucuses system.
  • Democratic National Committee chairman Tom Perez recently announced rule changes that stop requiring donor thresholds to participate in debates. This appears to be a late-game rule change to allow Mike Bloomberg on the stage, as he is funding his campaign entirely in-house. This rule change has caused many to call for Perez’s resignation.

 

  • Hendrix College Junior Joe Coker will appear in the JEOPARDY! College Championship this April. He and other young collegiate competitors vie for the $100,000 grand prize.
