- Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott expanded on the potential for his proposed additional one-cent sales tax, which would account for an annual $50 million revenue increase. Scott hopes the additional funds will help revitalize Little Rock’s parks, War Memorial stadium and the zoo.
- Some may recall the trend of mini pig ownership a few years back, unfortunately after realizing that the pigs could grow to 300 pounds and live for 20 years, many families choose to abandon their pets rather than slaughter them for breakfast. Seeing a need, Clinton resident Christa Cossey recently started the Green Acres Mini Pig Rescue. The miniature pig reserve is currently at full capacity, but if you own a pig you want to get rid of, follow her on Facebook for potential openings.
- Virginia’s state legislature decided to strike a holiday celebrating Confederate General Robert E. Lee. They decided to replace it with Election Day, a civic holiday. Government offices will close, but businesses can decide if they want to let their employees participate in the democratic process.
- Chinese officials announce a drop in new coronavirus cases. So far, there have been 31,400 confirmed infections across 25 countries, nearly 650 people have died.
- The Arkansas Razorbacks (16-6) hit the road this weekend, taking on the Missouri Tigers (10-12).
- Little Rock’s Rev Room hosts their monthly Independent Artists Night this Saturday. Tickets are $10-15 and the show starts at 7pm. Among the performers are Yung Shawn, Empress Beatrice of the Sun People, Pri$less Loyalty and Park Mob.
