- Pro-LRSD protestors and parents demonstrated outside the Governor’s mansion, marking the fifth anniversary of the state’s takeover of Little Rock Schools. Since the takeover, the number of failing schools has risen from six to eight.
- The Arkansas Department of Health reported 33 flu-related deaths so far this season, with six occurring last week. Arkansas’ flu death rate is comparatively low, considering an estimated 8,200 people nationwide have died from the flu so far this season.
- President Trump, alongside Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, released a Middle-East peace plan advocating a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine. The plan strongly favors Israel, as it does not require Israel to remove its controversial settlements in the Palestinian West Bank and would not allow Palestine full autonomy from Israel. Palestinian officials were not invited to the plan’s negotiations, and they are expected to reject the proposal.
- It’s a busy day for Donald Trump, as he also signed the United States-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement (USMCA) today at the White House. The USMCA replaces NAFTA as the governing trade agreement between the three North American countries.
