Arkansas can lay claim to one of best children’s museum in the United States.
USA Today has released its annual list of the best children’s museums in the United States, and the Museum of Discovery cracked the top 10. The Little Rock museum is ranked at #6 on the list.
While the initial nominees were determined by a panel of experts and the 10Best editors at USA Today, the top 10 winners were selected by USA Today readers.
In the USA Today description of the Museum of Discovery, the editors cite the Room to Grow space, its Tinkering Studio, Earth Journeys and the Discovery Hall as highlights to visit.
“It is so exciting and flattering to be chosen as the sixth-best children’s museum in the country,” Kelly Bass, Museum of Discovery CEO, said in a statement. “This validates the excellence of our guests’ experience and is a supreme compliment to our dedicated, hard-working staff. For each of the last three years we have attracted guests from each of the 50 United States and dozens of other countries. Finishing number six in a poll like this shows the level of broad-based support we generate.”
Readers voted for the Children Museum of Indianapolis as the top children’s museum in the United States. The City Museum of St. Louis, the Magic House of St. Louis, the Kohl Children’s Museum of Glenview, Ill., and the Children’s Museum of Houston rounded out the top five.
In addition, readers voted for the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, the Children’s Museum of Denver, the Strong Museum of Rochester, New York, and the Madison Children’s Museum for the 7-10 spots.
