North Forest Lights
Exciting news! North Forest Lights is returning to Crystal Bridges for a second season from September 4, 2020 to April 4, 2021. Visitors will be able to enjoy an enchanting evening walk through the Ozark woods outside the museum after sunset Friday through Sunday.
Crystal Bridges partnered with Moment Factory, a Montreal multimedia and entertainment studio, to bring the experience to Bentonville last year.
There are five distinct installations that “bring the soul of the forest to life with light, sound, and sensory effects in a captivating, family-friendly experience.”
Crystal Grove – See the glowing language of young saplings, as they seem to communicate through shimmering crystal lights.
Forest Frequencies – Channel the natural and human past as light and music connect you with the wavelengths of the Arkansas woods.
The Hearth – Gather around a bonfire-like sculpture to immerse yourself in the warm glow and beating heart of nature.
Whispering Tree – Communicate with a magnificent tree to learn about the color of your own voice.
Memory of Water – Surround yourself in light and sound, as a simulated stream brings water back to this dry creek bed.
In particular, the Whispering Tree allows visitors to speak into a microphone and see the color of their voice light up the tree. There will be a new queuing system to allow for social distancing as well as single-use microphone covers.
Visitors are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance to maintain social distancing. Masks will be required for ages 10 and older.
The museum has implemented sanitation stations, touchless ticket scanning and queuing systems to ensure that safety and social distancing measures are followed.
