Oaklawn will host Pink Out Day in honor of breast cancer awareness on Friday, April 30. This day will be in partnership with several cancer organizations in the region coinciding with the traditional Pink Out Day at Churchill Downs on Kentucky Oaks Day.
Fans are encouraged to wear pink to Oaklawn and they will have the opportunity to learn more about breast cancer from the many cancer organizations partnering for the day’s event.
“This is an event Oaklawn looks forward to growing in years to come,” said Oaklawn Vice President of Marketing Joan Botts, a breast cancer survivor herself. “We appreciate all of the support we have received from our partners, and we cannot wait to see everyone wearing pink next Friday!”
Gates will open at 9am and the first live race will begin at 12:30pm. The full simulcast of the Kentucky Oaks card will be broadcasted along with the live races. Oaklawn’s final 2021 live race will conclude the following day Saturday, May 1, with a 12-race card highlighted by the $300,000 Oaklawn Invitational and the full simulcast of the Kentucky Derby.
