A long-awaited Central Arkansas breakfast joint officially has an opening date. Big Bad Breakfast is scheduled to open in Little Rock on June 28 at 101 South Bowman.
Big Bad Breakfast was founded by James Beard Award-winning chef John Currence in 2008, and boasts a southern-style breakfast menu — all made from scratch. This will mark the brand’s first Arkansas location.
“I can’t get enough of the Rock.” Currence says of the city. “I have built so many amazing friendships and partnerships that I cannot wait to get up and running so I can be here more. We could not have wished for better partners in Little Rock.”
Ben Brainard, former Yellow Rocket Concepts partner, is serving as the state’s operating partner for Big Bad Breakfast.
“We are incredibly excited to bring Big Bad Breakfast to Little Rock,” Brainard says. “I grew up in the Heights going to Bard’s in the ’70s and ’80s, and feel as though there’s been a bit of a hole in the market for a casual, fresh, affordable breakfast diner. We look forward to serving our guests their most important meal of the day beginning June 21st!”
The Little Rock location will be able to seat up to 116 indoors, with 12 additional outdoor seats available. The restaurant will also feature a full-service bar.
