The news broke in 2021 that Maumelle would eventually be getting a brick-and-mortar Count Porkula location. That wait from news to plate is about to come to a close — Count Porkula is officially set to open its Maumelle location this week.

Count Porkula began as a food truck before expanding to The Rail Yard, then announcing another two physical locations, which includes the soon-to-open Maumelle location (Count Porkula on the Boulevard) and a forthcoming East Village location (Count Porkula at the Crossroads). Both of the latter ventures are in partnership with the Keet family of JTJ Restaurants, who are behind many local favorites, such as Petit and Keet, Cypress Social and Waldo’s Chicken and Beer.

The grand opening for Count Porkula on the Boulevard is set for Thursday, June 2 at 11 a.m. According to the barbecue brand’s website, the Heights location is set to open in fall 2022.

“We’ve had a few successful soft openings, and now we can’t wait to welcome everyone to our new space,” the business says on Facebook.
