A Northwest Arkansas city is about to become home to the “original party bike.” A couple of Pedal Pubs are set to operate in Fayetteville next week. The city council approved the business for operations in March.
Pedal Pubs are essentially bars on wheels, as patrons can pedal their way through town on the electric carriages while enjoying a drink (or two). According to reports, the local franchisee in Fayetteville will start off with two of the Pedal Pubs and add more later as needed. The city council approved up to 10 carriages.
According to the local laws, the Pedal Pubs may only be driven by persons 21 years of age or older who has been granted a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity and a Pedal Carriage Drivers Permit from the police department.
Fayetteville Flyer is reporting that the two Fayetteville Pedal Pubs arrived this week.
The City of Fayetteville has outlined the area shaded in green (below) as the approved operational zone.
