So when it’s time to get new tires, what do you do, and where do you go? Everyone runs around all day long, driving all over town focused on the tasks they have on their to do lists, and they never really stop to think about their tires. Until they come out and one of them is flat!
When tire issues arise in our house, we reach out to Michael Wylie and all his guys over at All About Tire and Brake. They have two locations – one on Mablevale Pike and the one we visit over off of Hwy. 10. These guys know what they are talking about and go out of their way to take care of their customers.

All About Tire and Brake
Many times I have been getting ready for work and when I leave I notice my bride has picked up a nail in one of her tires. Now my wife HATES to be inconvenienced, especially first thing in the morning. So I simply text the guys over at All About Tire and Brake, and let them know that she has a nail in her tire and she is going to be running in there on a mission, so be ready. EVERY time that happens, they meet her at the door and immediately reassure her that they are going to get it taken care of as quick as possible and get her right back out of there. This immediately calms her down and she goes over and get a cup of coffee and starts answering emails while they take care of her. Do they drop everything they are working on and fix her car? No, but they make her feel like her time is important and they are going to do what they can to get her out of there as soon as possible.
I asked Michael some easy questions on tire maintenance, and here is what he had to offer. Most passenger car tires will get 40-50,000 miles out of them if properly maintained. Now anything fun to drive, like sports cars and our Jeeps, will probably get considerably less than that, mainly due to driving habits of those type of cars and the materials those tires are made up of.

Rotate your tires every 5,000 miles.
Typically you should rotate your tires about every 5,000 miles. An easy way to tell if tires need to be replaced is to grab a penny, stick it in the tread in the middle of the tire. If you can see all of Lincoln’s head, it probably is time to look at new tires. Or as Michael said, just run by and they can actually measure the tread depth for you! (That takes all the fun out of it.)
They seriously run a great shop at both locations and make it easy to get in there and get exactly what you need and get right back on the road. They also do full brake jobs, oil changes, and lots of other minor mechanical stuff. They are very family-oriented as well and have areas for kids to play and do things while they wait.
It’s really good these days to know that there are still quality shops around that you can send your wife to or your 16-year-old son who tears up his Jeep every time you turn around, and know that they are going to be well taken care of and get exactly what they need.

All About Tire & Brake does full brake jobs, oil changes, and lots of other minor mechanical repairs.
Speaking of needs, I think I need some new 40” mud terrain tires for my Jeep. I guess I need to call Michael back and see if he has a “Momma don’t know” plan.
