An Arkansas icon is in need of help after the recent Arkansas River flood.

For over 50 years, Ray Rodgers has been a fixture in the boxing world. The coach and cut-man has mentored young, up-and-coming boxers while serving in the ring with professionals.

The Ray Rodgers Boxing Club has become the epicenter for boxing in Arkansas. This Little Rock institution is where generations of young boxers have been trained by Rodgers, who is a regional and national Gold and Silver Gloves organizer. To recognize his impact, Rodgers was inducted into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.

However, the Ray Rodgers Boxing Club was recently destroyed during the Central Arkansas flood. During the flood, water filled the club 18 inches high.

AY About You Magazine is partnering with Diamond Rock Promotions for a charity black tie affair to support the Ray Rodgers Boxing Club. The event will be held September 21, at the Embassy Suites in Little Rock, starting at 5:30 p.m.

During the event, there will be live music provided by the Zac Dunlap Band, as well as a red carpet cocktail reception and a silent auction. Following the opening, there will be a formal dinner and a live auction.
