I found the perfect recipe to accompany your sadness, and it’s full of delicious chocolate and peanut butter. Once you eat the chocolate, you’ll start feeling much better! Oh! And the peanut butter! Now to find that bottle of Sauvignon blanc to go with it.
This is another delicious recipe from the Junior League of Little Rock’s Big Taste of Little Rock cookbook.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Squares
- ¼ cup packed dark brown sugar
- 1 ½ cups confectioners’ sugar
- 2 cups creamy peanut butter
- 2 (4 oz.) milk chocolate bars
- 1 (4 oz.) semisweet chocolate bar
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Combine the brown sugar, confectioners’ sugar and peanut butter in a bowl and beat with a hand mixer; some of the brown sugar lumps may remain. Press into a greased 9×9-inch pan.
Combine the milk chocolate, semisweet chocolate and butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on medium for 1 to 2 minutes or until melted; mix well. Spread over the peanut butter layer. Chill until set. Cut into small squares to serve.
