It’s Recipe Monday on a Tuesday, and instead of my contribution with the recipe, it is from Heather Baker, the publisher here at AY Media Group.

I saw where she had whipped up something and posted it to social media, because “pics or it didn’t happen,” right? And this is good ole comfort food. A bowl of spaghetti.

She didn’t specify what kind of red wine she drank with it.  (Editor’s note: Ms. Heather doesn’t drink wine. It’s one of those weird things about her.)

Ms. Heather’s Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients

1 lb. ground beef

1 sweet onion, finely diced

4 cloves of garlic, chopped or minced

1 can (15 oz.) crushed tomatoes

1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce

1 can (14 ½ oz.) diced tomatoes with garlic, oregano, basil

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon pepper

2 teaspoons dried basil

½ teaspoon dried oregano

½ teaspoon sugar

Directions

Brown the ground beef with onions and garlic. Drain the fat. Add the remaining ingredients and let simmer for a couple of hours. Put a lid on it or it will make a mess all over the stove.

Heather suggests:  “I boil thin spaghetti in pan and mix the sauce with noodles to get more flavor.” Serve with crispy bread and freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
