Stuffed Stromboli with Mariana (Photo credit: @dianemorrisey)
We love getting cooking inspiration both from AY About You’s monthly recipes in the magazine but also from the World Wide Web. This one comes from an account we kind of obsess about-Instagram account for @dianemorrisey.
Shout out to Diane on terrific creations that are fairly easy and oh-so-delicious.
Stuffed Stromboli with Marinara
Recipe and photo from @dianemorrisey
Ingredients
1 lb pizza dough (homemade or store bought)
16 slices provolone
10-12 slices ham
16-20 slices salami
16-20 slices pepperoni
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water)
Sesame seeds
2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley
Marinara for dipping
Directions
- Heat oven to 400F. Place a piece of parchment on a sheet pan and roll the dough out into a rectangle stretching it out along the pan.
- Layer first with provolone, leaving a 2” border around the dough. Then layer ham, salami, pepperoni one on top of the other and then finish with the mozzarella.
- Roll up the dough up like a cinnamon roll and place seam side down on the sheet pan. Brush with the egg wash and cut small slots in the top to vent the Stromboli. Top with sesame seeds.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top. Serve with marinara.
