The next stop on the Patio Bucket List is West Little Rock’s Red Moon Tavern. Heather Baker is under the tavern’s red umbrellas ready for some good food.

First up is Chef Michael’s new appetizer for the summer, Spring Crudites. Served by the man himself, Chef Michael describes all that goes into the dish including, fresh veggies, sweet pea hummus, house-made crackers and the restaurant’s lemon-infused honey.

“We infuse [the honey] for a few hours, strain it and then we garnish it with a seasoning blend that I call “Everything that I Love,”’ Chef Michael says.

Next up is Baker’s favorite dish, shrimp and grits. The Red Moon Tavern serves the dish as a small plate with blackened shrimp on cheesy jalapeno grits.

AY has raved about this dish – it is so good,” Baker says. “You have to come check it out.”

Another seasonal dish on the menu is the pesto salmon over chilled couscous with lump crab and paired with an arugula and pickled veggie salad.

“[This dish] is bursting with flavor,” Baker says. “I love the crust on the salmon and I love the fruit taste to [the dish].”

A classic at Red Moon Tavern is the seafood gumbo. Shrimp, andouille sausage and grilled chicken are smothered in gumbo on top of cheesy jalapeno grits.

“[The gumbo] has some heat, but not too much heat,” Baker says. “This is a great shareable entree.”

The supreme pizza at the Red Moon Tavern is what Baker raves as “gourmet.”

“This is not your typical looking supreme pizza, but it is amazing,” Baker says.

Red Moon Tavern set Baker up with chilled drinks to fight off the Arkansas heat. A lavender lemon drop, sangria and Baker’s favorite, the blackberry sage margarita sit in front of her waiting to be enjoyed.

“I think I’m going to have to drink it all.”

Tune in next week to find out where the fourth stop on the Patio Bucket List will take Heather Baker.
