Bob Robbins, born by the name of Robert Spears, died on May 21 at the age of 78, as confirmed by 105.1 The Wolf, the radio station he worked for.
Often referred to as “The Voice” of country music radio, the legendary radio star was originally from Florida, but began his career in radio in Little Rock. He was a Country Radio Hall-of-Famer and was passionate about helping children.
As reported, Robbins is survived by his wife, Susan, his three kids and five grandchildren. He worked at 1090 am KAAY, where he started his career, KSSN 96 and 105.1 The Wolf. During the long period of time he worked at iHeart, KSSN 96, Robbins was inducted into the Country Radio Broadcaster’s DJ Hall of Fame and was named Broadcast Personality of the Year in 1996.

Robbins’ family is asking people to donate toys to be distributed to Arkansas kids. Donations will be accepted at Rodney’s Cycle House in Little Rock.
