An opening date for the Capital Hotel is drawing nearer.
In early April, AY About You Magazine reported that the Capital appeared to be preparing for a relaunch after being shut down for more than one year. The Capital Hotel closed down in late March 2020, announcing in a social media post that “due to the current and increasingly volatile nature of the COVID-19 virus pandemic,” it would be suspending all hotel and restaurant operations.
At the time of the reporting, the Capital Hotel had multiple job postings for management and non-management roles at the hotel and restaurants.
Multiple sources have told AY that the Little Rock institution is getting ready to reopen soon. Currently, a reopening date has not been announced.
In addition, social media posts have indicated that there are plans to reopen the hotel in the near future.
AY has reached out to hotel officials but has not received any comment.
AY will follow this story and update it as it develops.
