If you’re excited about the Christmas holidays, here’s good news — Christmas in Branson starts early, Christmas fun is in full swing, and no place does Christmas like Silver Dollar City!
It truly is a Christmas wonderland. There are Christmas trees and Christmas lights, music and entertainment, holiday food, Christmas trees and Christmas lights … millions of lights. Seven million lights … 680 miles of lights! And a thousand decorated Christmas trees! The newest addition to the City’s Old Time Christmas is “Joy on Town Square” and the eight-story state-of-the-art Christmas tree. Created and designed exclusively for Silver Dollar City, it’s the first of its kind “anywhere on the planet.” Hundreds of thousands of high-resolution lights on the tree combine with color, music, and animated imagery. It’s stunning; still photos don’t do it justice. Nearby “Christmas in Midtown” dazzles with light tunnels, nine-story light displays, flying angels and reindeer … your Christmas world will be glowing when you’re at Silver Dollar City.
And things are glistening all over the park! Rudolph’s Holly Jolly™ Christmas Light Parade winds its way through the City with lighted floats, drumming bears — there are 200,000 LED lights just in the parade. Craftsmen and shop owners offer a multitude of treasures for you and everyone on your Christmas list. You can snack your way around the City with freshly baked fruitcake, make-your-own s’mores, and apple dumplings, to name just a few treats. Enjoy a meal that might remind you of a Christmas past. There are three different festive buffets, featuring prime rib, “root beer-glazed” ham, and of course, turkey with all the trimmin’s. Planning a family trip for Thanksgiving or Christmas? I’d say Silver Dollar City is a perfect destination!
Speaking of Christmas Past, you’ll see the “Ghost of Christmas Past” in A Dickens’ Christmas Carol, one of two Broadway-style productions that are part of Silver Dollar City’s Old Time Christmas. The special effects are astonishing, with revolving sets, flying spirits, and pyrotechnics. (I’d love to be the Ghost of Christmas Present — what a delightful and hilarious little sprite!) The other performance is a musical interpretation of It’s a Wonderful Life. Both shows are on stage through December 30 this year. The shows are beautifully staged and produced. The sets and costumes are extraordinary, and the talent is truly outstanding.
Santa Claus Lane, the Sing-Along Steam Train Ride, Rudolph’s Christmas Town (crafts and activities there, kids!), Tinker Junior’s Toy Shop … and rides! More than 40 rides and attractions to thrill and entertain you, including the world’s fastest, steepest, and tallest spinning coaster, Time Traveler, and Outlaw Run, the 2013 Guinness Book of Records-holder for the steepest drop on a wooden coaster. (Gulp.)
Everything you love about the holidays you’ll find at Silver Dollar City: Christmas tunes and trees, food, shopping, fun and entertainment for “kids of all ages.” CNN Travel, USA Today, The Travel Channel, Good Morning America, Southern Living, and many more national sources have named Silver Dollar City one of our nation’s top holiday destinations. Experience it for yourself! From the festive fun of Christmas to the Live Nativity and the real beauty of the season, Silver Dollar City is a place for you, your family and friends to make wonderful holiday memories. Remember, “You have a great past ahead of you.”
The park is open Wednesday—Sunday through December 30, 2019. For more information go to SilverDollarCity.com
