This summer, enjoy the late evening sunshine and explore SoMa with your friends. Numerous SoMa businesses will be staying open late on the first Friday of each month and are inviting the community to see what makes this neighborhood so special. Summer is the perfect time to wander from shop to shop and hang out.
Shops like the Argenta Bead Company will be open, and you can get some shop for some cool jewelry and more. At Argenta Bead Company, you can make a custom charm bracelet for only $8! Don’t forget to head over to MOXY Modern Mercantile for more great shopping opportunities.
SoMa is a cultural treasure in Little Rock. In fact, it’s the home of one of the most unique museums in the city and even the country – the ESSE Purse Museum and Store. Did you know that the ESSE Purse Museum is the only purse museum in the United States? Check it out from 4-8 p.m. and get free admission with refreshments. The New Gallery will also be open and will be featuring paintings and prints, including works by Arkansas artists.
All this walking will have you working up an appetite. Luckily, SoMa is a hotbed for great food and drink. Dos Rocas Beer & Tacos will be close by, slinging their delicious fare for hungry customers. If you’re in the mood for something sweet, Dos Rocas will have a churros and ice cream stand set up on the sidewalk.
The dates for this summer’s SoMa After Dark gatherings are Friday, June 7; Friday, July 12; and Friday, August 2. Hours are dependent on the individual establishments, but the event itself lasts from 5-11:45 p.m.
