Are you looking for the perfect outdoor dining spot? Look no further – Little Rock’s SoMa District has you covered, offering a wide array of dining options and the ability to take alcoholic beverages outside.
The SoMa Entertainment District, launched last year, has been renewed for 2021, and it will be the place to grab a bite to eat and enjoy entertainment this spring and summer. Inside this district, patrons can take alcoholic drinks from permitted restaurants and other establishments outside to enjoy while eating a meal or just strolling along.
SoMa’s restaurants will be serving up their food for outdoor diners. According to Kevin Hamman, manager for The Root and Mockingbird Bar & Tacos, numerous restaurants and bars will be participating in this effort to bring people to SoMa.
Some of the participating establishments include Rock Town Distillery, Community Bakery, Esters, Rock N Roll Sushi, South on Main, Raduno Brick Oven and Barroom, Loblolly, The Root Café and Mockingbird Bar & Tacos. Several other restaurants, including Original Hot Dog Factory and Press Waffle Co., are expected to join the pack later.
“This gives people an option. You can walk around, have your margarita,” he said. “It certainly is a great option that want to come and be outside because there are so many different restaurants.”
The Outdoor Dining Room in SoMa will give patrons a spot to spread out and enjoy their food and drinks. Hamman said patrons can order food and it will be brought to them outside at the Outdoor Dining Room.
“We’ve got this awesome outdoor area with lights and tents, and then there’s music,” he said. “We want people to come eat and be outside in a safer environment where they’ll be spread out.”
But it won’t be just food and drink that’s available in SoMa. Hamman says that there will be tons of entertainment to keep everyone happy. There will be live music on Friday and Saturday nights from 6:30-9 pm, and there will be a trivia night on Thursdays from 7-9 pm.
Currently, the SoMa Entertainment District has been renewed through the middle of June, but Hamman says that local officials are working on extending this, so that the district is available all summer.
The SoMa Entertainment District and Outdoor Dining Room will be staffed Thursday through Saturday from 5-9 p.m. Starting this weekend, make sure to head over to SoMa to grab some amazing food and drinks and hang out awhile.
