Halfway through its 2021 run, the Arkansas State Fair is breaking attendance records and packing people in for long-awaited concerts. And with some of the most-anticipated performers yet to take the Vaccinate Arkansas main stage, promoters are inviting one and all to come out and be a part of the history-making crowds.

“The theme of the 2021 Arkansas State Fair is ‘See Y’all There,’ and after four days, Arkansas has taken that to heart,” says Dan Sawyer, fair spokesman. “People from one end of the state to the other have come out in droves to enjoy the food, ride the rides and take in the musical performances.”

The lack of a midway last year and this fall’s perfect weather are the leading factors in the boosted attendance numbers, Sawyer says. Fair attendance topped 94,000 on Saturday, Oct. 16, an all-time high mark. Despite the capacity crowds, no major issues have been reported by fair security, a testament to the planning put forth by organizers.

“Simply put, the State Fair is fun, safe and affordable,” Sawyer says. “It’s an Arkansas tradition for many families and we’re so happy they have come out and supported this great event.”

Two of the fair’s biggest concerts lie ahead, Southern rockers Blackberry Smoke on Oct. 22, and country star Riley Green on Oct. 23. VIP tickets are sold out for the show, but there’s plenty of general seating left, Sawyer says.

“The State Fair Concerts are the best value in live music today,” Sawyer says. “For the price of your gate admission, you get this great musical entertainment to enjoy and there’s plenty of room for all. Make plans to attend and we’ll see y’all there.”
