With a community steeped in rich, Mexican heritage, you know Springdale is going to bring the heat when it comes to Taco Tuesday.
Yes, there are plenty of spots from which to choose. And honesty, you probably can’t go wrong with most. But if I’m anywhere near downtown Springdale on a Tuesday, I know where I’m going. And I won’t be the only one.
Taquería Don Güero is one of Springdale’s best taco joints, without question. You know it when you make your way down Emma Avenue and see the folks waiting in line to order or sitting on the tailgates of their trucks waiting on their orders.
While much of downtown Springdale experiences a sort-of renaissance with new shops, restaurants, and more, Don Güero continues to do its thing and serve up simple, delicious and authentic tacos from its little shop window.
The menu here is simple, and the service is quick. Walk up to the window, place your order, take your ticket pager and wait your turn. It’s how the joint’s been doing it since 2014.
As for tacos, you do have options. There’s your traditional steak, chicken, pork, chicken and shrimp. But there are also tripe tacos, beef tongue tacos, pork stomach tacos and more. What’re you hungry for?
And because you’re there on a Tuesday, Taquería Don Güero’s steak and chicken tacos are just $1. Do yourself a favor and just order a bunch, then smother them in an assortment of the spicy sauces they offer up on the side.
You can have a seat at the picnic tables out front or take it to go. Want to turn the evening up a notch? Take them across the street to Black Apple Hard Cider (you’re definitely allowed to do that), and have yourself one of the South’s best locally crafted hard ciders. Get a flight of ciders to go with your flight of tacos and try to determine which one best suits the other.
