This week’s Taco Tuesday takes AY to Tacos 4 Life which is making a difference both locally and abroad through its food.
Tacos 4 Life was founded by Ashton and Austin Samuelson not just to feed Arkansans, but to feed those facing food insecurity.
“We saw world hunger as a solvable problem, leading us to develop a brand where guests come together to create a world where starvation no longer exists,” says Ashton. “For every taco, salad, quesadilla, rice bowl or nachos that are sold, 24 cents is donated to Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), our nonprofit partner.”
Tacos 4 Life is proud to have fresh, real food, consisting of recipes with unique backgrounds and history.
“Many of the items on our menu have a unique story behind them as well – my and Austin’s grandparents helped with the Fried Chicken taco and Mexican Creamed Corn, the Blackened Mahi-Mahi is inspired by our early years as a married couple living in California and the Korean BBQ taco is a recipe from our counselor and dear friend,” she says. “Over the years, so many people have contributed to the food on our menu.”
There are 14 tacos currently on the menu, offering something for everyone.
“We have chicken, steak, tofu, eggplant and seafood options so that anyone, no matter their personal preference or dietary restrictions, can have a seat at our table,” says Samuelson. “Each taco has its own personality too – some are Southern-inspired while others may have some Mexican or Korean flair.”
While the Grilled Chicken and Classic Beef tacos have always been two of the best sellers with customers, Samuelson’s personal favorite is the Korean BBQ taco.
“It is made with tender steak, our Korean and Yum Yum sauces, cabbage and we top it off with wonton strips.”
Tacos 4 Life is located in Arkansas, Texas, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Tennessee. Central Arkansas locations include Benton, Conway, Little Rock and North Little Rock. Also be on the lookout for its new location in West Little Rock location that will open later on this year!
