The Arkansas Food Blogger Round-Up, July Edition
Arkansas is filled with some great food and drink bloggers. Each month at AY About You, we’d like to do a round-up post featuring all the wonderful writing and picture-taking going on throughout the state. If there is a blog you’d like to be featured, please email me at [email protected].
Ben, a.k.a. The Beard Chef Guy, has been super busy lately, even leading his own cooking demonstrations. Please go check out his new Facebook page, and see everything he’s been up to.
Speaking of being super busy, Emily and Amy of Conversations Cocktails + Connections, have a lot going on, including setting up a new studio for their podcast and learning about exciting cocktails at a recent Eggshells class. Oh, and they also keep churning out awesome podcast episodes.
Have you been to the El Sur food truck? Arkansas Taco has and here’s the full recap of their last visit. It comes as absolutely no surprise that the baleada was the star.
Arkansas Trendsetter gave a big thumbs up to the new pizza at Lost Forty Brewing. I noticed one go past me the other day while I was sipping on a Blackberry Bramble in their taproom. It looked great.
Gyro + Pizza = Dreams Come True. If you don’t believe me, here’s Southern Ash Blog’s pic to prove it. Layla’s has some seriously underrated pizza.
Lyndi has everything you need to know about Spud Doctors in Bentonville.
Jimmy’s Jerk Chicken & BBQ has been on my radar for a long time, but after seeing what Tip Top Chew posted about the place, I really need to make it happen soon. The pineapple dish is very intriguing, to say the least.
Here’s Woo Pig Foodie’s perfect grill job thanks to the combination of skills and his Rec Tec. Take a gander at those grill marks.
Dang! Look at these Whole Hog ribs via the NWA Lunch Bunch. This one was taken at their Fayetteville location.
So, um, yeah, I will definitely be making Maruka’s Hot Ricotta and Tomato Dip recipe after I get my hands on some local tomatoes, which will probably be this weekend.
Jess of eating_with_jess_ recently raved about the new Ol’ Bart Southern Eats in Conway. And she isn’t the only one. I’ve heard a lot of positive chatter about the restaurant, and I plan on checking it out in the very near future.
It’s time for me to break out the bundt cake pan, thanks to Sweet Yellow Cornbread and her Peach Bundt Cake recipe. I am not a huge fan of baking, but I do enjoy trying different bundt cake recipes every few months.
Café Bossa Nova rarely gets the attention it deserves, so thank you to Kaylie and Hannah, a.k.a. The Know It Alls, for recently highlighting the Hillcrest mainstay.
Oh wait, maybe Bossa Nova is starting to get more and more attention. LitFoodie has this to say about a Saturday special.
The Scientist Eats is at Kemuri, ordering from both the robata and sushi sides of the menu. Wise decision. I tell folks this all the time … Kemuri’s beef tenderloin is amazing.
Colleen from Brilliant Eats has plenty of good things to say about Petit Jean Coffeehouse.
What a wonderfully touching tribute by Serenity & Spice, a must-read.
The Little Rock Foodie’s wife is pregnant and was craving some Chocolate Fudge Brownie Pie from Blue Cake/Honey Pies. “This is one of the finest pies in town. An amazing creation with a crunchy brownie top, flaky crust, and a chewy brownie batter center….sooooo good!”
