One of Little Rock’s most innovative food trucks is closing down soon.

The Lab Food Truck will be ending service on Sunday, Sept. 27. In the week leading up to the last day of service, the food truck will be holding a “farewell tour” featuring fan favorites.

During the farewell tour, the popular miso cheesy burger will be available, and there will be a single batch made of the 24-hour Shio Ramen. Other items will be on the menu and will be available until the food truck runs out of product.

According to a social media post, the Lab is not closing due to financial reasons but due to a “great opportunity that came a lot sooner than expected.” It is currently unclear what this opportunity is.

We appreciate all the love and support and we’re truly fortunate to have such an amazing community to call home. We made so many new friends, had so many great experiences, made a lot of wonderful memories, and we had such an amazing time bringing you our delicious food. It’s definitely a sad and heartbreaking moment to close the truck down but it’s what best for now,” Chef Gilbert Alaquinez wrote in the Facebook post.

The Lab is an offshoot of Kemuri restaurant that opened in December 2019. Run by Alaquinez, the food truck served as a experiment station for different restaurant concepts.
