For this week’s Thirsty Thursday, AY About You sits down with Chelsey and Paul Cao from Kawaii Boba House.

The Caos explain that Kawaii Boba House was the product of “brainstorming together at the dinner table and combining our favorite things – anime, fun snacks and drinks, and a positive happy environment where anyone is comfortable to be themselves.”

Kawaii Boba House sells boba tea, which includes chewy tapioca balls or a wide range of other toppings. Boba tea originated in Taichung, Taiwan in the early 1980s, while the Japanese word kawaii means “cute”. Kawaii Boba House has over 30 flavors (not counting flavor combos), and has a diverse assortment of boba, jelly, and toppings.

“Half the fun is coming up with a new combo,” Chelsey says.

The most popular amongst customers at Kawaii Boba House are the Signature Drinks. “They are kawaii, packed with flavor, and perfect for Instagram,” Chelsey says.

The Caos tell AY about staff favorite drinks.  “For the staff pick, they suggested the classic milk tea with tiger stripes and tapioca. It’s the OG, and a good starting place for anyone who’s never had boba tea before.”

Paul shares with us some new upcoming additions to the menu. “Lucky Charm is the new signature drink, we launched it on St. Patrick’s Day. It’s a blended Matcha Milk Tea with white chocolate down the sides of the cup, classic tapioca, premium matcha powder across the top, and of course for extra fun two matcha pocky.”

When asked if they plan on making any new additions to the menu soon that aren’t seasonally related, the Caos reply, “Yes! Unfortunately it’s top secret, so no details now. We are unbelievably excited and can’t wait to offer this to Little Rock and the rest of Arkansas!”

Chelsey and Paul agree that what makes Kawaii Boba House unique is what they consider the overall package.

“You can find boba and you can find fun. Combining the drinks, snacks, anime, local artists, and a chill but enthusiastic vibe just gives a lot of customers an experience they’ve never had.”
