Three Little Rock parks will be closed over Easter weekend as a result of high levels of traffic.
In a Facebook post, the Little Rock Parks & Recreation Department announced that Remmel Park, Barton Park, and Murray Park’s pavilion and sand volleyball areas would be closed from Friday, April 10 through Sunday, April 12. All of the parks are scheduled to reopen the following Monday.
The department said that these parks are experiencing “high levels of traffic and have exceeded a safe capacity.” The closures are part of an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19 over the Easter weekend.
While individuals are encouraged the use the city’s remaining parks, the department urged visitors to practice social distancing.
