There are always great things to do in the Natural State, and AY has compiled some of the most exciting events. Here are the top 10 weekend events coming up from Friday, June 4 to Sunday, June 6.
Friday, June 4
What: Food Truck Friday
Where: The Main St. Station in Benton
When: 5-8pm
The Main St. Station will be holding its first Food Truck Friday. Multiple food trucks, including Rina’s Hibachi Kitchen, Mama Mia Pizzeria, Li’l Bub’s Grubs and Coffee, and Kingdom Made Treats Italian Ice, will be there. There will also be live music from the Ridgewalkers. There will be a face painting vendor, as well. Meditating Market will also be at the event, offering “earth friendly” items, including natural bathroom products, plants and more.
Friday, June 4
What: In Real Life Comedy Tour
Where: Simmons Bank
When: 7pm, 11 pm
Actor and comedian Mike Epps is bringing his unique comedy to North Little Rock. He is also bringing a line-up of all-star comedians, including Mark Curry, DC Young Fly, Karlous Miller and Kountry Wayne. There will be two performances on Friday, so make sure you catch one. Tickets range from $63-129.
Friday, June 4
What: Music in the Wild: The Rodney Block Collective
Where: Wildwood Park for the Arts
When: 8-10pm
Wildwood Park will be hosting a casual outdoor concert featuring The Rodney Block Collective. Block is a renowned musician who has played with Earth, Wind and Fire, and more. Guests invited to bring chairs and blankets. Concessions will be available for purchase. Price $25.
Saturday, June 5
What: 13th Annual Lamar Car Show and Family Day
Where: Lamar City Park in Lamar
When: 8am-3pm
This is the 13th annual Lamar Car Show, featuring 27 classes of cars. These 27 classes will be awarded 1stand 2ndplace trophies, and there will be Best of Show, Best Paint, Best Interior and Best Engine awards. Registration for the car show is $15 for pre-registration and $20 for day-of registration. Free to attend
Saturday, June 5
What: Stueart Pennington’s World Championship Running of the Tubs
Where: Bathhouse Row in Hot Springs
When: 9am-12pm
Downtown Hot Springs will host the 15th Annual Stueart Pennington World Championship Running of the Tubs on Saturday, June 5th, 2021! The event is free to the public and consists of costumed teams loading up in authentic wheeled bathtubs for a race through the streets of Hot Springs. Audiences are also encouraged to come out with “water guns, house slippers, shower cap, and robe, to join in on all the fun while watching the parade along Historic Bathhouse Row! Free
Saturday, June 5
What: Makers Market
Where: 301 W. Main Street in Heber Springs
When: 9am-2pm
This market will feature artisans, crafters and farmers from around the area. There is a range of vendors and booths, selling hand-crafted and other items. The Five Star Brass, part of the 106thArmy Band, will be playing at the market on June 5. Free to attend.
Saturday, June 5
What: Wildwood Community Day
Where: Wildwood Park for the Arts
When: 10am-12pm
Wildwood Park is hosting its monthly community day this week. There will be children’s activities in the Bruce Garden. You can wander the trails or enjoy catch-and-release fishing in Swan Lake. There are always unique artist events planned, and you never know what will be happening. Free
Saturday, June 5
What: Boom Art with Arkansas PBS
Where: PBS Plaza at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway
When: 10am-2pm
Join Croaker, Dazey and Clifford the Big Red Dog for a day of family fun. In partnership with Arkansas PBS, the event will have family friendly activities and will feature an opportunity to color the 12×30 foot Toad Suck Daze mural. Admission is free, but registration is encouraged. (Registration portal not yet updated)
Saturday, June 5
What: NJCAA Football Championship
Where: War Memorial Stadium
When: 4-7pm
Hutchinson Community College’s Blue Dragons will take on the Snow College Badgers in the National Junior College Athletic Association Football Championship. Hutchinson is the no. 1 ranked football team with a 7-0 record and 137 total points. Snow College is the no. 2 ranked team with a 8-0 record but 132 total points. This is the Blue Dragons’ fourth consecutive postseason appearance. This was Snow College’s first undefeated season since 2008.General admission is $12. Club level admission is $45.
Sunday, June 6
What: Rhythm in the Rock
Where: Red & Blue Events (1415 W. 7th Street, Little Rock)
When: 4pm
This is a family-friendly music and food festival going on throughout June. On Sunday, Amy LaVere and Will Sexton, as well as Richie Johnson will provide musical entertainment. During the festival, there will be different food trucks set up, which will rotating throughout the month. There will be kid activities, including art and games. If you miss it this week, there will be more festival days on June 13, 20 and 27. Free

What: Riffs at Stifft
Where: Stone’s Throw Brewing in Stifft Station
When: 5-9pm
Kick off the weekend with dinner and tunes at Stone’s Throw. The Hungry Nomad food truck will be serving food from 5-9pm. From 7-9pm, Bluesboy Jag will be performing.
Saturday, June 5
What: Willow Beach Park Annual Fishing Derby
Where: Willow Beach Park Pond in Scott
When: 9am-12pm
This annual fishing derby for kids age 15 and younger. Kids can bring their fishing gear, catch fish and win prizes. This is sponsored by the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission and Army Corps of Engineers’ Little Rock District Office. Free.
