“Wash your hands.” That’s what two local physicians told us when asked on ways to prevent the virus that causes the coronavirus. Amy Beard, M.D., a functional medicine doctor in Little Rock adds, “It’s all about immune optimization. My go-tos are: extra Vitamin D, Vitamin C, a natural antiviral, making sure I get adequate restful sleep, and keeping my gut health in [good] shape. All the common sense stuff.” Bruce Sanderson, M.D., an internist practicing in central Arkansas since the 1970s says, “and avoid coughers.”
The virus that causes it is COVID-19. According to the New York Times, “Vice President Mike Pence, President Trump’s newly appointed point person on the epidemic, announced on Thursday that an experienced scientist and public health official would serve as the coronavirus response coordinator for the White House.” According to the Centers for Disease Control, there are 60 confirmed cases in the U.S. And that’s with a population of over 327 million.
Take care, friends. And wash your dang hands.
