There’s big news for foodies and fans of a certain grocery store chain.

According to our friends at Rock City Eats, Trader Joe’s is reportedly laying the groundwork for a grocery store in Little Rock. As of press time, Trader Joe’s has not confirmed that there are plans for a new store.

This will be the first Trader Joe’s store in Little Rock and Arkansas as a whole. The closest Trader Joe’s stores to Arkansas are located in Germantown, Tenn.; Tulsa and Nichol Hills, Okla.; and multiple Texas locations.

According to Rock City Eats report, the chain is in the process of obtaining contractors and developing plans for its location, possibly at 11500 Financial Centre Parkway.

Founded in 1958, the grocery store chain was originally called Pronto Market. The first Trader Joe’s officially opened in Pasadena, Calif. In 1967 – in fact, it’s still there. Trader Joe’s launched its first private label product in the early 1970s and expanded throughout that decade.
