Walmart is now offering morning pick-up exclusively for people most at-risk for COVID-19 including those over the age of 60, those with disabilities, first responders, and anyone designated high-risk by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The designated time period will be from 7 to 8 a.m.
Eligible customers can reference a prompt on Walmart.com/grocery that details the qualifications for selecting the ‘At Risk Only’ pickup time. However, at-risk individuals may still choose any other pick up time as well.
Curbside pick up is contact-free, allowing customers to open their trunk for associates to load groceries. No signature is required at the point of pick up. Associates are also following distancing and sanitation procedures to prevent further spreading of coronavirus.
Customers can shop on the website or on the Walmart app.
“Now more than ever, families are relying on our pickup service to help get quality, fresh groceries to their homes as safely as possible,” Tom Ward, senior vice president, Customer Product said. “These are extraordinary times, and we are constantly looking for ways we can help deliver that same peace of mind to all our customers, particularly those who are most at-risk.”
