Every Memorial Day weekend, the Mountainfilm Festival shows amazing documentary films. Mountainfilm on Tour allows people in different parts of the country to see these films. What: Arkansas Honey Festival

The Arkansas Honey Festival celebrates all things honey in Arkansas.
There will be workshops, honey tastings, honey extracting and more.
There will be a contest to decide the best honey in Arkansas.
There is a kid’s zone with crafts, including tie-dying t-shirts.
Food trucks will be there. There will also be honey smoothies at the festival.
The farm has been owned and operated by the Bemis family since 1992. The honey bee farm started with five hives and was designed to pollinate the family’s commercial tree farm.
Now they sell beekeeping supplies and offer beekeeping classes.

What: 2019 Arkansas Goat Festival
Where: Perryville City Park (Perryville, AR)

This festival is dedicated to all things goat.
There will be goat costume contests, a goat parade, goat games, goat races and more.
There’s even a goat lingerie show – “Nannies at Night.”
There will be live music at the festival, starting at 10 am.
Attendees can also enjoy goat yoga and goat soap making.
Free admission for you and your goat.
Arkansas goats must have a USDA tag or tattoo. Out-of-state goats must have a certificate of health. Goats should be kept on a leash.
Festival started in 2016. This year is the 4thannual event.
Did you know? Goats were one of the first animals to be domesticated.

What: Arkansas Paranormal Expo
Where: MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History

Ghosts, spirits and more: that’s what the Arkansas Paranormal Expo is all about.
There are more than 10 guest speakers scheduled for the event. Topics range from Bigfoot to ghosts to UFOS.
Carol Pate, a famous Arkansas psychic, will be speaking. Featured in this month’s AY.
There will be discussions on cryptozoology, tarot, ESP (extrasensory perception or a “sixth sense”) and more.
There will be a variety of vendors at the expo – everything from unique woodworking to crystals to jewelry and more. Also, there will be food trucks.
The expo benefits the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History.
Tickets are $10 for the weekend.
This is the ninth annual expo.

What: 2nd Annual Fassler Hall Oktoberfest Wiener Races
Where: Fassler Hall
When: 11 am-1 pm
This Sunday is the most important race of the fall season: the Oktoberfest Wiener Races.
Tiny dogs will be racing to beat each other in the second annual races.
To race, dogs must be full-bred dachshund and be up-to-date on all vaccinations. The entry fee is $5.
Applications being accepted now to Oct. 4 at 12 pm.
Costumes optional.
Proceeds from the race go to Special Olympics Arkansas and Friends of Animal Village.
The races will be held indoors. You can use treats and squeaky toys to bribe your wiener dog!
Free admission to watch the race.
You can also enjoy Fassler Hall’s selection of Oktoberfest beers. They will have 6-8 special brews on tap in addition to their regular selection.
