What: The Big Shirley Masterfly Championship
Where: Lost Forty Brewing
When: 5:30-8:30 p.m.
The competition is on this Thursday to find the Masterfly Champion! Bring your fly-fishing skills to Lost Forty and compete in a fly tying contest. Each participant will be provided with fly tying materials (as well as a surprise material) to use in the competition. There will be three competitions – an amateur competition, a professional competition and a blindfold Wooly Booger Competition – where participants can win Lost Forty gift cards, an Ozark Angler fly fishing rod, a Yeti cooler and a stay at Lindsey’s Resort in Heber Springs. Of course, make sure to wet your whistle at the brewhouse and try some delicious snacks!

What: 25thAnniversary Screening of Forrest Gump

Life’s like a box of chocolates, but you know exactly what you’re getting Friday night. It’s the 25th-anniversary screening of Forrest Gump! This 1994 classic is a favorite for all ages, and it is hilarious and heartbreaking, often at the same time. You’ve probably seen Forrest Gump before, but it’s worth seeing on a big screen. If you haven’t, go see this story of an Alabama boy who experiences some of the biggest events of the 20thcentury and leaves his mark on them. Tickets are $5. What: Star Wars Science
Where: Museum of Discovery
When: 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Is your kid strong with the Force? Find out this Saturday at the Museum of Discovery’s Star Wars Science event. You can use “The Force” to move objects and learn how to shoot lightning, just like in the movies! Don’t miss the Star Wars Science shows that will be happening throughout the day. Your young Jedi can also learn how to code, build LEGO dioramas and even meet some cool Star Wars characters. Admission to Star Wars Science is included with general admission, which is $10 for adults and $8 for kids, seniors and military.
What: Little Rock Monster Truck Wars

Want to see massive trucks smash into each other? Then you need to watch Monster Truck Wars! There’s a full slate of races and shows scheduled this Saturday, and they’re sure to get your blood pumping. Four of the most famous monster trucks in the world – Outlaw, El Loco Oso, Sheriff and Carolina Crush – will be at the Coliseum, ready to make some noise!
