Prepare to get your funny bone tickled by these two comedians. Steve Martin and Martin Short are coming to the Verizon Arena as part of their nationwide comedy tour. This is a don’t miss event! Tickets are available here.
What: Jack Frost in Santa Land
Where: Arkansas Arts Center Children’s Theatre
When: 7 p.m.
Jack Frost is on the naughty list this year! This pesky elf is constantly playing tricks on Santa and slowing down the North Pole’s toy factory. Will his tricks keep Santa from delivering the toys on Christmas? Go see the Arkansas Arts Center’s production of Jack Frost in Santa Landto see what happens to Jack, Santa and everyone else at the North Pole. Tickets are $10 for members and $12.50 for non-members. If you miss Friday’s performance, don’t worry. It’s running until Dec. 16.
What: Holidays in Hillcrest

There’s nothing like a tree lighting to get you in the holiday spirits. Head over to the Allsopp Promenade to watch the tree lighting and enjoy some delicious cocoa and cookies. Because everything is better with cookies. Make sure to mark your calendar the second Holidays in Hillcrest on Dec. 6 because Santa’s coming to town!
Saturday, Dec. 1
What: Winter WonderVILLE
Where: Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce
When 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Shop ‘til you drop at Jacksonville’s Winter WonderVILLE on Saturday! There will be lines of vendors where you can shop for Christmas presents for your loved ones. For the kids, there will be crafts, a photo corner and even a cocoa corner! Best of all, admission is free. Make sure to stick around afterwards because there will be a tree lighting at 6:30 p.m.
What: Breakfast with Santa and Sugarplums
Where: Little Rock Mariott
When: 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Santa and the Sugarplums are making a special stop in Little Rock this Saturday for breakfast! Drop by the Little Rock Marriott’s Great Room for breakfast and meet performers from Ballet Arkansas’ production of The Nutcracker, and of course, Santa himself. Take a picture with your favorite Sugarplum after you eat breakfast. Angel Tree will also be at the breakfast to collect new and gently used toys and clothing for children. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children under 12.
Sunday, Dec. 2
What: Reindeer on the River
Where: Little Rock River Market
When: 12 p.m.
Christmas is my favorite time of the year, and it wouldn’t be Christmas without a few good reindeer. This Saturday, you can meet one of Santa’s reindeer helpers at River Market Pavilions. Will Rudolf be there? Or Dancer? There’s only one way to find out – and that’s to show up Saturday! Kids will have plenty to do this Saturday. They can even write letters to Santa that the reindeer will take to Santa when they go home. FREE
What: 51stAnnual Christmas Frolic
Where: Historic Arkansas Museum
When: 1-4 p.m.
Go back into time to have a 19thcentury Christmas at the Historic Arkansas Museum. This annual event will feature living reenactments of Christmas from years gone by, along with live music, caroling and dancing. There will be games to entertain kids and adults alike! Of course, it wouldn’t be the Frolic without the museum’s famous hot cider and ginger cake!
What: North Little Rock Christmas Parade
Where: North Little Rock
When 2-3 p.m.
After you see Santa’s reindeer, head over to North Little Rock to see the city’s annual Christmas parade. This year, the parade’s theme is “Hometown Christmas,” and it is definitely a “don’t miss” event. The parade will go down Main Street from Pershing to the North Little Rock City Services building.
