AY Publisher Heather Baker joined Fox16 Good Day to talk about this weekend’s activities, including Rock Town Distillery’s 8th anniversary party and PopUp Stifft Station. Our weekly blog post has even more great events, like Opera in the Ozarks.
Thursday
We love a good party – especially an Alley Party. Head to the alley between Museum of Discovery and Zeteo Coffee in Little Rock from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for one of Downtown Little Rock Partnership’s Alley Parties, this one hosted by CDI Contractors. The address is 500 President Clinton Avenue. DJ Mike Poe will bring the music. There will also be a food truck and craft beer from Stone’s Throw Brewing.
It’s International Yoga Day. What better way to celebrate than with DOGA? Yes, that’s yoga with your dog. Cheers and Namaste Yoga and Bark Bar are teaming up for a dog and yoga lover’s dream. From 6 to 7 p.m., yogis and doggies will be at Bark Bar, located at 1201 South Spring Street in Little Rock. Check in starts at 5:45 p.m. It’s $15 for the class, dog entry and your first beer. Bring your own mat, and don’t forget your I.D. and dog’s shot records. Humans must be at least 21 to attend, and dogs must be at least 4 months old.
Friday
Opera in the Ozarks begins Friday and will continue until July 20. The 2018 season includes performances of Gioachino Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Douglas Moore’s The Ballad of Baby Doe and Johann Strauss II’s operetta Die Fledermaus. Performances will be at Inspiration Point in Eureka Springs (located at 16311 Hwy 62 West) and Arts Center for the Ozarks in Springdale (located at 214 S. Main Street). See Capitol View/Stifft Station in a new way at Experience the Block: PopUp Stifft Station. From 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, PopUp in the Rock will have art, food trucks, artists, vendors and music in the area near the Oyster Bar in Little Rock. The Merchants on Markham shop, Stone’s Throw Brewery, Buice Gallery and Arkansas Yoga Collective will all be participating.
