- The Little Rock Zoo reopened this past weekend after temporarily closing on July 3 due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19. Since the zoo shut its doors, any exposed employees have tested negative and all facilities have been deep cleaned.
- After being postponed from its original May scheduling, the Third Annual Hot Springs Baseball Weekend will now take place August 14 – 15, highlighted by personal appearance by four baseball legends: Ted Simmons, Lee Smith, Steve Carlton and Al (The Mad Hungarian) Hrabosky.
- As bike sales have increased during the pandemic, Holy Roller, a business out of Benton, is refurbishing donated broken bikes and putting them up for free grab. The shop is still accepting donated bikes.
- A request for proposals for the bringing of a “golf entertainment facility” such as Topgolf at War Memorial Park was issued on July 1. According to the proposal, the city would lease 18 acres of the formerly War Memorial Park Golf Course near South University Avenue and West Sixth Street. It closed last summer due to budget issues.
