Jonesboro football player tests positive for coronavirus

  • The Jonesboro School District suspended all activities after one of their football players tested positive for coronavirus. Their high school football team began workouts this month.

 

Arkansas Governor’s School to be virtual

  • The 41st Arkansas Governor’s School will be offered online this summer. Students in the 2020 class will be enrolled in four classes, including their area of specialization: visual arts, choral music, instrumental music, drama, English/language arts, mathematics, natural science, social science or cybersecurity.

 

Walmart donates masks to Arkansas hospitals

  • Asa Hutchinson announced yesterday that Walmart had delivered 7,000 masks to hospitals in Northwest Arkansas in an attempt to help amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

 

Little Rock Zoo sets reopening date

  • Starting June 22, the zoo will be open to members, and it will reopen to the general public on June 29. Little Rock Zoo Director Susan Altrui unveiled the zoo’s reopening plan during a virtual meeting on Monday, June 15.
