What is Girl Scouts?
Girl Scouts is a movement dedicated to helping girls develop the skills they need to become the next generation of leaders who will change our world in big and small ways.
Girl Scouts is where a girl can practice different skills, explore her potential, what she’s passionate about, and what she wants to achieve—and even feel allowed to fail, dust herself off, get up, and try again.
Research shows that Girl Scouts improves girls’ confidence and makes them better prepared for life’s challenges. And the current challenges are unparalleled.
“The girls who are living through this moment in history are the leaders of tomorrow, and we must continue to be here for girls,” says Dawn Prasifka, president and CEO of Girl Scouts – Diamonds of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. “Girl Scouts is a place where girls can find community, solidarity, leadership opportunities, and fun, despite the moment we are all living through. Through Girl Scouts, we are working to help girls overcome setbacks and enable them to move forward with grit and resilience.”
Girl Scouts is Not Canceled!
Girl Scouts – Diamonds has stepped up with innovative online and at-home ways for girls to continue to access unique programs and resources to keep the Girl Scout experience and support going.
Despite a global pandemic, Girl Scouts continues to offer new adventures and opportunities for girls, and recently added 24 new badges girls can earn that take leadership skills to the next level. The new badges cover entrepreneurship, STEM career exploration, automotive engineering, and civics.
