Women’s Own Worth is making sure that 2020 is a “WOWnderful” Christmas in Arkansas.
The Arkansas nonprofit, which supports survivors of abuse and violent crimes, is launching an effort to give out gift cards this holiday season to individuals who have been impacted by a violent crime. In total, WOW is giving out $10,000 in holiday gift cards.
WOW founder JaJuan Archer announced that the Women’s Own Worth board approved the program to give $10,000 in gift cards out earlier today. Archer says that that these gift cards are intended to be “blessings” for people in Arkansas who need a little cheer and have been impacted by crime.
“We really want to bless a lot of people for Christmas this year,” she says. “And not necessarily just for Christmas – this time of year people might need help with groceries or getting their children gifts. Whatever the need is, we want to help bless them.”
As part of this program, WOW will be giving away $100 per family with an additional $25 for each child in that family. There is a limit of $200 per household.
“We want to be a blessing to everybody we can,” Archer says.
The deadline to apply for the holiday gift cards is Sunday, Dec. 20 at 12 p.m.
