The fifth annual WOWapalooza event will take place on Friday, Oct. 12 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion.
The event aims to raise awareness, and support the victims of domestic and violent crimes. Sponsorships are still available, and tickets are $125 per person to secure a seat. There will be plenty of entertainment, dinner and an amazing silent auction to participate in.
Jajuan Archer, founder of Women’s Own Worth, says WOWapalooza is WOW’s only annual fundraiser, and the main contribution to their entire operating budget.
“The funds raised at this event allow us to provide important services for victims of domestic violence and violent crime. First and foremost, mental health therapy,” Archer says.
The provided dinner will be buffet style, and Archer says the food is absolutely amazing each year. Sissy’s Log Cabin has donated over $5,000 worth of jewelry, Braswell & Son donated a Louis Vitton handbag and Kelly Furr donated two original paintings for the auction. Dr. Ashcraft also donated a set of braces, and Little Rock Family Dental is donating a teeth whitening kit. There are typically over 100 silent auction items up for grabs.
“Benihana has donated a hibachi dinner for eight. Cross Iron Cottage has donated a two-day getaway. We have an overnight guided duck hunt for two, including dinner and breakfast donated by Blaznguns. The Pantry has donated dinner for four. We also have a wonderful seven-night vacation in Pagosa Springs, Colorado at an amazing private cabin that sleeps 16,” she says.
All funds raised at WOWapalooza will directly benefit victims, survivors and their families.
“WOW’s purpose is to bridge the gap between services that are not provided by state or federal programs, specifically therapy, which in my story was specifically impactful,” Archer says.
“I look forward to raising funds and awareness for Women’s Own Worth, which will allow us to continue our good works. I’m also looking forward to seeing our board and volunteers celebrate alongside our donors and supporters, the very people that choose to help our organization.”
